The Chester Area

Chester is located on the River Dee, close to the border with Wales, it was granted city status in 1541. 2000 years of heritage make Chester an absolute delight to explore.

If you choose to take a room within one of our 3 properties you can take a gentle stroll around the most complete City Walls in Britain, explore the towers, Eastgate Clock, River Dee, the largest Roman Amphitheatre and oldest racecourse in Britain. You can visit the majestic 1000 year old Chester Cathedral, located in the heart of the city featuring the finest mediaeval carvings in Europe. You can also go behind the scenes on the new Cathedral at Height Tour which takes you onto the roof of the Cathedral.

Close to Chester you can also visit the Blue Planet Aquariam, Chester Zoo (with its 11,000 animals and spectacular gardens) and the Designer Outlet Village.
